I believe High Roller is inspired by Grocky from the 1975 anime Time Bokan. Think about it, both Grocky and High Roller have a reddish-colored nose. At times, High Roller closely resembles him. Also, both are intended to be rather dim-witted villains.

This is a fan theory that I wanted to propose. We know that by the time of season 2, Twin Masters and HighRoller had allied. However, even from the very first episode of season 1, the narrator claims that when HighRoller took over, "chaos reigned." Is this possible indication that Twin Masters was active in Hidden Kingdom before he debuted in the show? The theory also goes on to speculate that there may be a conection between him and the demons in Pitched Battle of the Tank Army and with the Zebra brothers' ghost lanterns.
